Biography

Simin is a cellist with an international background, having studied in China, Austria, Germany, and the UK, and she is now studying at the Royal Birmingham Conservatory on the Advanced Performance Diploma (level-8), having also been part of the CBSO training scheme and the Birmingham Royal Ballet training scheme.

As a versatile artist, Simin enjoys performing multiple styles and has been involved in performances in a wider range of musical genres, including Opera, classical repertoire, musical theatre, jazz, and pop music. She also enjoys playing in chamber groups; she has participated actively in chamber music, including duos, piano trios, string quartets, and cello ensembles, and has also given several performances both inside and outside the RBC.

Simin is also passionate about music education and outreach. She has been a music volunteer and regularly teaches Chinese children online. Since 2022, she has discovered the joy of using music to help others and decided to develop further in this area. She has participated in many volunteer projects since 2023, for example, at the Wigmore Hall and the Royal London Hospital. She enjoys playing music with different people, for example, people living with dementia and children who stay long-term in the hospital.
